Rst Capa Cl Manual

Reviewed on: 25th Jul 2004 from Singapore The Review well among all those forks i've tried, this RST fork does its job better then SR Suntour and Hasa Comp 1.0 fork. But definitely not better den DJ I. A good fork to thrash for beginners and use it to learn drop off etc.so dat next time when u upgrade to a better fork, u wouldnt damage it. I've been abusing this fork for abt 3 mths plus and so far it hasnt given me any problems yet.not the best among the RST family but durability is they key here. Strengths adjustable rebound. Can be quite stiff when adjusted. Bounces well on road.

Maybe the barbecue unit comes with a wheel or three? More seriously, thanks a lot for the advice, particularly supersonic for the advice on how to disassemble these forks. I think I'll have a go myself as money's a bit tight around here at the moment (although I guess it's that way with everyone right now). Anyone else had any experience with disassembly of this kind of fork, or reassembly? I am kind of disappointed that a reputable outfit like Specialized would fit something which is well known to be a pretty poor quality item, but I guess it's a competitive market, and every penny saved counts.

Dear all, I am very new to all this, although I have had a road bike for a while and pretty much know what all the nuts and bolts do there. However, I have just bought a second hand Speciailized Hard Rock. It is a 2003 model and I was attracted to it because I have heard of Specialized and their road stuff is pretty good, and the guy selling had lots of service records from his LBS with bills for chains, cassettes, bottom brackets and all sorts. I've tried it out and it rides well, lighter than I thought it would be, and lots of fun on the rough stuff.

In fact, when I put all my body weight on them they don't move at all, and on the trail I can't feel them move. I guess I might have to strip them down and have a little look, as this is the one item not mentioned on any of the service bills. How easy or difficult is this?

Where can I get advice? Could they be broken beyond repair, and if so, what should I replace them with? Any advice would be most welcome.

^_^ Strengths Sticky sus. Great sensitivity for a tuff terrain ride. Absorb anything that comes in its way!!! Weaknesses The MCU is located at both side of the fork. Will need to adjust the sensitivity for both left n right.

Take the springs out and have a look. If theyre rusted then replace them. A lot of RST springs are interchangable so you wont have any trouble finding a set.

Buy some oil too. Your lbs wil be able to tll you which wieght you need and all. High quality barbecue units eh? I wonder if I could fit them to the Hard Rock instead of the forks? Where would I put the wheel?

On my trek 820 i have a RST 191 CL front fork. It has been bottomed out a few too many times, and will now bottom out on somethin as little as bunnyhopping 4 inchs and slamming the front down. Is there anyway to fix this?

I show how to tear down, clean, lubricate and rebuild RST Gila T5 forks/shocks. RST recommends this maintenance be done 'Every 4 weeks or 25-30 hours of riding or whenever the performance of the fork has diminished(whichever occurs first).' Basic service to keep your suspension working and from becoming stiff or frozen.

How do I find the correct measurements for my old RST Capa-CL, 3.0' travel fork. I have a 2003 Giant Boulder SE 19' frame bike 26' wheel and want to replace the fork. Details I found are like '1 1/8th ahead 63mm' or RST CAPA CL 2003 description: -Cold forged aluminium crown -120mm crown pitch -One piece aluminium lower leg -Coil spring -3 or 2 inches travel -8mm negative travel -1.70kg for 3' travel and 1.55kg for 2' travel I am looking to find a used or new alternative such as SUNTOUR XCM 80mm travel 26' or RST. How do know if it fits the frame - Steerer tube length - are they all the same? My bike frame 19'! I believe the 1 1/8th is the Steerer tube diameter - Does anybody have more info on this?

Make sure there are springs inside. Its not unknown for some people to remove them and replace them with elastomers that seize up after about 5 minutes, making the fork totally rigid. If the forks havent been serviced (capa are an old model, about 2003) then they might simply need a good clean and service. Take the springs out and have a look. If theyre rusted then replace them.
